Background:
CJ has lived in Ithaca since 1984. She grew up on the water, hailing from Sodus Bay, NY - just a short 90 minute drive north of Ithaca. She originally came to Ithaca to study at Cornell University, where she graduated with a B.S. in Natural Resources in 1988. Having developed an interest in the live theatre in college, she moved to Ogunquit, Maine after graduation where she worked as Assistant Treasurer of the famous Ogunquit Playhouse. CJ returned to Ithaca to work in the marketing department at the Ithaca College Department of Theatre Arts, where she worked for 5 years. While working at Ithaca College full-time, CJ earned a Master of Science degree in the area of Corporate Communications from the Roy H.Park School of Communications. In 1994, CJ changed career paths and entered the real estate industry as General Manager of Housing Solutions, an apartment referral service matching landlords with tenants. She then obtained her real estate license & has been working in the residential real estate sales industry since 1996. |

Awards:
CJ is very active with the local Ithaca Board of Realtors. She was President of the Board of Realtors in 2004 & was honored as Realtor of the Year in 2001 - an award that goes to a Realtor who exemplifies high ethical conduct, is actively engaged in the real estate business & has contributed to the Board of Realtors & to the Ithaca community. Along with her local Board volunteer work, CJ is also involved at the state level, serving on several committees with the New York State Association of Relators (NYSAR). This year CJ is the Chair of the Information Management Committee which works on several projects including the New York State Realtor Magazine, NYSAR website & the NYSAR Smart Growth Award. She has also served on these NYSAR committees: Multiple Listing Service, Technology, Member Services & Organizational Standards Subcommittee (which re-certifies other Boards/Associations throughout the state). Another volunteer group that CJ has been involved with since 1997 is Better Housing for Tompkins County, Inc. In 2003, CJ joined their board of directors & this year she was installed as Chair of the Board. She is an advocate for affordable housing & has volunteered her time with 1st time homebuyers in educating them on the process of purchasing a home. Hobbies include ice hockey (she plays with the Ithaca Sirens, a local senior women's team), rollerblading, fishing & boating & when she has time, a little gardening. She lives in the Town of Lansing with her husband, Norm, & in the summer, she can frequently be seen fishing on Cayuga Lake near Myers Point in Lansing, or rollerblading around Cass Park on the new Cayuga Waterfront Trail. |
